I have been the zebrafish facility manager in the Elkouby Lab for the past six years. I finished my Master’s degree from Al-Quds University in Molecular biology and biochemistry in August 2023 under the supervision of Kifaya Suliman discovering a novel frameshift mutation in a rare genetic disease called Xeroderma pigmentosum and screening a whole family carrying this mutation, my purpose is trying to change the life of people having this type of mutation by increasing their lifespan due to the serious outcomes of this disease.
My role as a zebrafish facility manager consists of various types of work such as the whole maintenance of 5 facilities, being a part of projects in the lab, trying to help students in the lab how to deal with the facility, and other jobs that need a couple of papers to fill.
I have two amazing daughters and a wonderful wife I spend my life amazingly with, and my free time is mostly filled with a lot of adventure such as traveling, discovering new places, driving my motorcycle, and drinking coffee which I adore.
